We had a blast volunteering at Miners Day this year! This annual festival is one of Frederick’s largest community events and draws thousands of people to the area each year. 2018’s celebration was held on Saturday, September 15, from 10 AM-10 PM at Crist and Centennial Parks in Frederick. This year’s theme was Traditions of the Past, Growing Towards the Future.
One of Miners Day’s main events was the Inaugural Frederick Miners Day Pack Burro Race, a 10k race that was a tradition of Colorado’s 19th-century miners. Other events included a parade, a car show, a 5k run/walk, a Chick-Fil-A nuggets eating contest, and lots of interesting vendors. Festival goers enjoyed beer, food, as well as live music and entertainment. Miners Day concluded with a concert and fireworks display.
Thank you to everyone who participated in this fun event! We hope to see you next year.
